Yahya Kemal College proudly celebrates a historic moment at the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2025), held in Sunshine Coast, Australia.
Our outstanding graduate, Aleksij Tasić, has won a gold medal, marking Macedonia’s third-ever gold at the IMO and crowning his exceptional four-year Olympiad journey.

This year, Macedonia was represented by six brilliant students:
- Aleksij Tasić – Gold Medal (35 points)
- Damjan Davkov – Silver Medal (30 points)
- Ivano Bozinovski – Honourable Mention
- Leonid Todoroski – Honourable Mention
- Marko Serafimovski – Honourable Mention
- Branko Jangelovski – Participant

The team was led by dedicated mentors:
- Ilija Jovceski (Institute of Mathematics, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics – Skopje)
- Mirko Petrushevski (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – Skopje)
Intensive one-month training sessions were organized by the Union of Mathematicians of Macedonia, covering advanced topics in algebra, combinatorics, number theory, and geometry.
This gold medal places Aleksij among the world’s math elite and makes Yahya Kemal College, and Macedonia, incredibly proud.
